Job Title: Marketing and Development Assistant
Location: Dudley, West Midlands
Salary: £26,000 per annum
Hours: 37.5 hours per week, between 8.00am – 6.00pm
Contract: Full-time, permanent
Black Country Living Museum is seeking a Marketing & Development Assistant to support the delivery of the Museum’s marketing campaigns, membership activity and fundraising administration.
Recognised as VisitEngland’s Large Visitor Attraction of the Year, Black Country Living Museum welcomes hundreds of thousands of visitors each year to experience the region’s rich industrial and social heritage.
This is a fantastic opportunity for someone enthusiastic and organised who is looking to start or develop a career in marketing, communications or fundraising. You’ll gain hands-on experience across a wide range of activities while supporting the team responsible for growing audiences, building supporter relationships and promoting the Museum’s work.
What will you be doing?
- Uploading and maintaining website content, event listings and information across third-party event platforms.
- Supporting the set-up and delivery of email campaigns alongside the Digital Growth & CRM Manager.
- Maintaining marketing asset libraries and helping coordinate and prepare marketing materials.
- Supporting photography activity across the Museum where appropriate.
- Monitoring and triaging enquiries received through marketing and development inboxes.
- Supporting the maintenance of CRM databases and assisting with list management and data updates.
- Assisting with preparation of marketing and audience data for reporting and analysis.
- Supporting membership administration and donor communications with the Development Manager.
- Assisting with the delivery of member and patron events.
- Coordinating guest lists and administrative arrangements for development and business events.
- Providing general administrative support to the Development & Communications team.
This is a varied role where no two days are the same, and you’ll gain experience across both marketing and fundraising activity.
What are we looking for?
- Confident organisational skills with excellent attention to detail.
- The ability to manage multiple tasks and priorities in a fast-moving environment.
- Good written communication skills.
- Confidence using digital systems including websites, email platforms and standard office software.
- Experience using databases or CRM systems (or confidence learning new systems quickly).
- A positive, proactive approach and willingness to get involved wherever needed.
- A genuine interest in marketing, communications or fundraising and a desire to build experience in these areas.
- Enthusiasm for the Museum’s mission and a desire to help share the stories of the Black Country.
