Relief Front of House Assistant & Kitchen Porter

Minimum 150 hours per annum | £13.45 per hour
We are looking for enthusiastic and reliable individuals to join our Front of House and Kitchen team. This role provides relief cover across Admissions and Food & Beverage, as well as supporting Kitchen Porter duties. By helping to cover holidays, sickness, and busy periods, you will play an essential part in the smooth day to day running of the Calanais Visitor Centre.
As we prepare to reopen following a £10.1 million redevelopment, this is an exciting opportunity to be part of a world-class visitor attraction and community hub.
Key responsibilities
Welcoming visitors and delivering excellent customer service
Selling tickets and retail items using EPoS
Supporting café service, including preparing and serving food and drinks
Maintaining clean, well-stocked, and well-presented areas
Assisting with stock deliveries and basic food preparation
Supporting events and daily operations
Carrying out kitchen porter duties, including dishwashing and maintaining hygiene standards
Following health & safety and food safety procedures at all times
What we’re looking for
Experience in hospitality, café, or catering
Strong customer service and communication skills
Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and as part of a team
Flexible approach to working hours (including weekends and some evenings)
Desirable: Barista experience, food hygiene certificate, Gaelic language skills, and an interest in heritage.
