Deputy Food & Beverage Manager

We are looking for a Deputy Food & Beverage Manager to join our Customer Experience Team.

Supporting the Food & Beverage Manager, this role plays a key part in delivering exceptional customer experiences across the Octagon Kitchen & Bar and wider hospitality operation. Taking a hands-on and collaborative approach, you’ll help drive sales, maximise profitability and maintain the highest standards of service, ensuring every visitor receives a warm Octagon welcome.

We are looking for someone who thrives in a fast-paced environment and leads by example. You’ll be organised, proactive and commercially minded, with the ability to motivate teams, oversee day-to-day operations and create memorable experiences for our customers. You’ll also be a confident collaborator, building positive relationships with colleagues across the organisation and helping us achieve our ambitious goals.

This role is responsible for supporting and developing our Kitchen & Bar team, ensuring staff feel motivated, supported and equipped to deliver outstanding service whilst maintaining high operational standards.

Our ideal candidate will:

• Support the delivery of exceptional hospitality experiences across the Octagon Kitchen & Bar, theatre bars and special events, ensuring customers receive friendly, professional and efficient service.
• Manage performance and address issues relating to conduct, attendance and punctuality, escalating to the Food & Beverage Manager where appropriate.
• Drive sales and commercial performance by identifying opportunities to increase income, maximise profitability and enhance the customer experience.
• Oversee operational standards, including stock management, cash reconciliation, health and safety, food hygiene and licensing compliance.
• Work collaboratively with colleagues across the organisation to support performances, events and hospitality functions, contributing to the Octagon’s wider artistic and charitable objectives.
