York Minster is strengthening its commercial approach to events and group bookings as part of a wider transformation to support long-term sustainability and growth. We are seeking a proactive and commercially driven Sales & Account Manager to help realise this ambition.
The role
This role is responsible for driving revenue growth through events, group bookings, and private hire. You will lead proactive sales activity, manage enquiries from initial contact through to contract, and build strong relationships with clients, partners, and agencies.
You will play a key role in converting opportunities into high-quality bookings, while ensuring all activity aligns with agreed pricing, commercial policies, and operational feasibility.
Working closely with colleagues across commercial and operations, you will ensure that every booking is well-planned, deliverable, and contributes positively to both income and visitor experience.
What you’ll bring
We are looking for someone who combines strong sales capability with excellent relationship management.
You will bring:
Proven experience in sales and account management within events, hospitality, tourism, or a related sector
A track record of meeting or exceeding revenue targets
Strong organisational skills and the ability to manage multiple opportunities and deadlines
Confidence working with pricing frameworks, sales pipelines, and performance reporting
Excellent communication and negotiation skills
You will also be comfortable working in a complex, high-profile and purpose-led environment, where attention to detail and alignment with organisational values are essential.
