The Commercial division is tasked with developing and delivering an ambitious strategy for sustainable commercial growth, as a fundamental part of the overall V&A experience and brand position, and to underpin the museum group’s future financial sustainability. The division brings together the V&A’s key income generating areas of retail, ticketing, publishing, eCommerce, catering, membership, Academy, and a completely integrated front of house operation.

This role works as part of the Retail team to build product ranges for the V&A shops that reflect the varied needs of our V&A audience, contributing to a retail offer worthy of the V&A brand and reputation. The V&A shop is a destination in its own right, beloved for its varied offer showcasing crafts from all over the world as well as unique products designed exclusively for the V&A.

Reporting to the Buyer, the Junior Buyer will be responsible for developing, sourcing and selecting specific product categories within seasonal and exhibition ranges. This involves research into both the permanent collection and exhibition content to determine best product applications and identify gaps in our offer. Working closely with the rest of the buying team and the retail design team, this role will be responsible for developing exclusive products for the V&A shops.

This role is a great opportunity for a junior buyer to develop their product development and product sourcing skills by looking after their own product categories and learning from more senior members of the team.
