Buildings and Estate Manager (temporary to 2028)
£45,000 pa
Southwell Minster is located in the heart of rural Nottinghamshire. It is unique among English cathedrals in its blend of scale and intimacy. Built on the site of a Roman villa and later a Saxon church, the current 12th-century Romanesque building is widely considered one of the most beautiful of its kind in England.
We are looking for a Buildings and Estate Manager for a three-year period to manage the improvement, care, compliance and maintenance of the Cathedral and its estate alongside the delivery of recommended buildings masterplanning projects.
The priorities for this role are to plan and deliver the maintenance programme for the Cathedral, its grounds and surrounding estate; to plan, tender and oversee the capital programme; to secure savings in property maintenance costs, alongside increased revenue income; and to move the Cathedral’s estate towards net zero.
You will have significant experience of managing historic buildings, with knowledge of conservation practice, legislation and consents. You will have strong project management skills, and you will ideally have a relevant professional qualification.
