Tullie is a changing, dynamic and exciting place to work
Are you a creative project manager interested in playing a key role in the transformation of Cumbria’s premier museum?
Join the passionate and driven team at Tullie as Project Manager (Maternity Cover), to help lead and deliver Phase 3 of Project Tullie – our major capital development programme.
This phase will reveal more than 100,000 collection items for the first time as part of our new Active Gallery and will deliver a transformational visitor experience for Tullie, as well as creating a new Learning Studio to service our oversubscribed education programme.
This is a key role within the team, responsible for managing the delivery of the current phase of the project as we approach construction and ensuring that project outcomes remain aligned with the needs and priorities of our community, beneficiaries and major funders.
Working across departments and in close collaboration with the Programme Manager, Technical Manager, and external consultants and contractors, this role ensures we stay on track, on budget, and aligned with our wider Futureplan aims.
If you’re an experienced and organised project manager with great communication skills and a creative flair, we’d love to hear from you.
This role is made possible with funding from The National Lottery Heritage Fund.
Purpose of the Role
As Project Manager, you will:
· Be the main point of contact between Tullie and the external design team, consultants, and funders.
· Oversee workstreams and delivery milestones, ensuring alignment with NLHF grant requirements.
· Drive internal cross-departmental involvement, keeping the project embedded across the organisation.
· Manage reporting, procurement, risk, and communications associated with project delivery.
· Contribute to funding reports, evaluation, and legacy planning.
This role offers the opportunity to be part of a transformational moment in Tullie’s history – shaping a major museum redevelopment for Carlisle and Cumbria.
