BJA’s consultants have significant backgrounds as senior managers, commercial / marketing / visitor experience directors and curator managers of some of the UK’s leading, smaller and medium sized attractions as well as significant and successful experience as former NLHF Case Work Managers.
For 30 years, BJA’s consultants have been and remain at the forefront of setting the benchmarks for the sector and best practice developing the commercial and customer focused culture and the management and operating models which have become sector wide best practice.
BJA has an enviable track record of:
• developing successful, realistic, robust and achievable business plans (including NLHF), marketing strategies and management and maintenance plans including Norwich Castle, The Beacon of Light (Sunderland Foundation of Light) the new London Fire Brigade Museum, the Birmingham Commonwealth Games (venue hire), Ipswich Museum, Fort Amherst, Bolton Castle and the Postal Museum (venue hire);
• turning around attractions which have not been able to achieve their business plans (prepared by other consultants); and developing new business plans, management and operating models and income generation strategies for venues that have wanted to be more financially sustainable including Pitzhanger Manor & Gallery, Anderton Boat Lift (Canal & Rivers Trust), Black Cultural Archives, Waltham Abbey Royal Gunpowder Mills (WARGM), Oxford University Collections, Edinburgh Parks & Greenspaces and York Museums Trust (conferences and venue hire);
• conducting commercial, operational and visitor services reviews including National Museums Scotland, National Museums Wales, the Royal Albert Hall, The Fitzwilliam (Cambridge), The V&A and The Museum of London Group (MoL).
Some of BJA’s consultants remain senior managers in the sector and BJA provides senior interim management support for a wide range of attractions including WARGM, MoL, Arcelor Mittal Orbit (London Olympic Park) and the Wales Millennium Centre.
