Art UK is an art education charity

As the Content Marketing Officer for Scottish content, you will play an important role in helping us reach new audiences in Scotland and increase engagement with our content and learning workshops. Reporting to the Director of Content, you will work closely with the Commissioning Editor – Scotland to create and deliver marketing campaigns that maximise reach and impact.

You bring strong experience in planning and delivering marketing campaigns and are confident setting and meeting audience engagement targets. You understand how to identify and reach the right audience segments across different communication channels, from newsletters to social media. You’re a creative and strategic thinker who enjoys crafting promotional content that resonates with different audiences.

You’ll also bring a passion for the arts and a commitment to accessibility, with a keen interest in helping audiences discover underrepresented stories and voices in Scottish art. You’ll play a key role in ensuring newly commissioned stories and video content are widely seen and shared.

 

Necessary Skills

–        Essential: Experience planning, delivering, and monitoring marketing campaigns across digital channels (e.g. social media, email, websites)

–        Essential: Confidence setting campaign KPIs and using data and analytics (including GA4) to inform decision-making

–        Essential: Understanding of how to identify, reach, and engage different target audiences

–        Essential: Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to adapt tone and messaging for different platforms and audiences

–        Essential: Ability to create compelling promotional assets (e.g. video captions, email copy, social media text, graphics using tools like Canva or similar)

–        Essential: Proven experience collaborating with producers to create short-form video content, ideally on art, culture, or heritage, for web and social media.

–        Essential: Experience using email marketing platforms

–        Essential: Well organised, with strong time management skills and the ability to manage multiple deadlines across projects

–        Essential: High attention to detail and a proactive, solutions-focused approach

–        Essential: Ability to work both independently and as part of a team

–        Desirable: Experience working in an arts, culture, or heritage organisation

–        Desirable: Interest in visual art, museums, or public engagement with culture

–        Desirable: Awareness of inclusive marketing practices and audience development

 

Contract terms

–        3 days a week, 0.6 FTE

–        Fixed-term contract to 31st March 2026, with potential to extend subject to continuity of Creative Scotland multi-year funding

–        Salary £28,000 per annum (pro rata)

–        Three-month probationary period

–        One-month termination clause

–        Work from home, anywhere in Scotland
