£19,656 per annum based on 1560 annualised hours.

We are currently recruiting a permanent tearoom catering assistant for Grosmont Tearoom, reporting to the tearoom supervisor. We are looking for a candidate with experience in food preparation and service, who is flexible with working hours and thrives in a busy environment and will be able to cover in the supervisor’s absence.

You will

Assist in all aspects of food preparation and service to visitors and working members of the NYMR in a friendly, professional & profitable manner
Cover in the supervisor’s days off, opening up and closing down the outlet & cashing up.
Maintain the cleanliness of the premises, to clean and wipe tables & keep the tearoom clean and well stocked.
Follow all health & safety procedures, ensuring good food hygiene practices are adhered to at all times, ensuring the tearoom retains its level 5 food standard rating.

The Hours

This permanent Tearoom Assistant position is based on 1560 annualised hours. These hours will be mainly worked during the main operating season (March – early November), usually 5 days over 7, including weekend working.
Additional hours will be worked during the winter months which include, but are not limited to, when the trains are running.
