Are you passionate about cultural commerce and enterprise? If so, we invite you to join us as a Trustee here at the Association for Cultural Enterprises.

About Us: The Association for Cultural Enterprises is a Charity and Trade Association dedicated to promoting excellence and innovation in cultural commerce and enterprise. With an ever growing membership of more than 500 organisations, our mission is to support the cultural sector to become more financially resilient and self-sustaining through maximising commercial income streams. We are a very practical trade body, providing a wide range of resources and tools to directly support cultural organisations of all shapes and sizes to improve their commercial performance and overall visitor offering.

Why Join Us: As a Trustee, you will have the opportunity to contribute to the strategic direction and governance of the Association. Commercial activity has never been so important to the health and prospects of cultural organisations. This is a unique chance to help shape the future of commerce and enterprise within this hugely important sector.

What We’re Looking For: We are seeking a minimum of three individuals to join our skilled and passionate Board of Trustees. Whilst experience in a cultural organisation is advantageous, it is not explicitly required. For these roles we value the following:

• Commercial Experience: Whether within, alongside or even outside the cultural sector, commercial experience and skills are highly desired.
• Innovative Thinking: This is a forward thinking and dynamic organisation. A creative and forward-thinking approach to challenges and opportunities is sought from our new intake of trustees.
• Specialisms: We welcome applications from across all backgrounds and skillsets. We are particularly keen to hear from individuals with specialist skills/knowledge in the fields of sustainability, finance, education & training and delivering large scale events.
• Geographical Spread: We aim for representation from across the UK and beyond and welcome applications from any geographical location.

Who Can Apply: We welcome applications from individuals of all backgrounds and experience levels, you do not need to be a senior leader to apply. Prior board experience is not required – what matters most is your passion for cultural enterprise, your enthusiasm for the sector, and willingness to be an active contributor.
